Afrin Canton is the westernmost of the three cantons of Rojava. It was declared autonomous in January 2014. The administrative center of the canton is the town of Afrin. The prime minister of Afrin Canton is Hevi Ibrahim. Most of the people who live in Afrin Canton are Kurds. The local government thinks that the nearby al-Nusra Front may attack them.
