Alentejo Region is one of the NUTS 2 regions of Portugal. It covers all of the historical Alentejo Province, but the Lezíria do Tejo Subregion also covers areas of the Estremadura Province.

The Alentejo is the south-central part of Portugal.

Alentejo Province is one of the six historical provinces of Portugal. The province take its name from the Portuguese além Tejo, meaning "Beyond the (River) Tagus".
