Animal Crossing, known in Japan as , is a life simulation video game developed by Nintendo EAD and published by Nintendo. It was originally published for the Nintendo 64 in Japan on April 14, 2001. It was enhanced and re-released on the GameCube in Japan later the same year as . It was then released in other countries in 2002-2004. Finally a third version, , was released only in Japan in 2003.
