Phosphorus (Greek  Phōsphoros) — a name meaning "Light-Bringer" — is the Morning Star, the planet Venus in its morning appearance. Φαοσφόρος (Phaosphoros) and Φαεσφόρος (Phaesphoros) are forms of the same name in some Greek dialects.
