Of those, Jackie Stewart has won the most, with three titles in 1969, 1971 and 1973; although since the 2015 United States Grand Prix this is now shared with Lewis Hamilton also on three driver's titles. The 2014 World Champion (Lewis Hamilton) and one former British champion (Jenson Button) are both still active in the sport: Hamilton has won the most races and amassed the most points of any British driver (along with sharing the same number of World Championships as Jackie Stewart), while Button has started the most races.
