Jilin City (
postal: Kirin; ) Is the second-largest city and former capital of
Jilin province in
Northeast China. As of the 2010 census, 4,413,517 people resided within its administrative area of and 1,975,121 in its built-up (
or metro) area consisting of four urban districts. A
prefecture-level city, it is the only major city nationally that shares its name with its province.
