Kenya National Assembly elections, 2013
The 2013 Kenya National Assembly elections were held on 4 March 2013, Under the new constitution, which was passed during the 2010 referendum, the 2013 general election was the first general election run by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC). The Constitution provides for 290 seats directly elected by geographic constituencies and 47 seats for women county representatives. According to their relative strength, the parties nominated 12 additional representatives. A speaker will be chosen to serve as an ex-officio officer.
