The first season of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers is an American television series created by Haim Saban and Shuki Levy, which began transmissions on August 28, 1993, on the Fox Kids Network. The fictional series follows events in the lives of five, later six, teenagers with superpowers, who were chosen by the wise sage Zordon to become Power Rangers in order to stop the evil Rita Repulsa from taking over the planet Earth. The first season included 60 episodes and concluded its initial airing on May 23, 1994. The first season of MMPR uses footage and elements from the Super Sentai series Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger.
