The
Secretariat for Communications is a
dicastery of the
Roman Curia with authority over all communications offices of the
Holy See and the
Vatican City State, including the
Pontifical Council for Social Communications, the
Holy See Press Office, the Vatican Internet Service (VIS),
Vatican Radio, the
Vatican Television Center, the
Osservatore Romano, the Vatican Typography, the Photograph Service and the
Vatican Publishing House. As a Secretariat, it ranks, along with the Vatican
Secretariat of State, the
Secretariat for the Economy, the three Vatican-based appellate tribunals, and the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, above all other Vatican dicasteries (departments).
