that produce the
gonadotropins
, such as the
follicle-stimulating hormone
(FSH) and
luteinizing hormone
(LH). Release of FSH and LH by gonadotropes is regulated by
gonadotropin-releasing hormone
(GnRH) from the
hypothalamus
.
