BTEX is an acronym that stands for benzenetolueneethylbenzene, and xylenes. These compounds are some of the volatile organic compounds (VOCs) found in petroleum derivatives such as petrol (gasoline). Tolueneethylbenzene, and xylenes have harmful effects on the central nervous system.
