Balim Sultan is the greatest personality in the Bektashi Order after Haci Bektas-i Veli (Haji Bektash) and he is regarded as the “Second Pir”. He was born in 1457 in the town of Dimetoka. He died in 1517. It is widely accepted that his father was Mursel Baba and his mother was a Serbian/Bulgarian princess.
