Buddy Holly is
Buddy Holly's debut solo album and his second
album overall (following
The "Chirping" Crickets in 1957), released in February 1958. Although billed as a solo record, the personnel once again features Holly's band,
the Crickets, accompanying him. Approximately one year later, Holly was killed in a plane crash. It contains one of Holly's best known songs, "
Peggy Sue". Some re-releases contain the tracks from Holly's next single; "Early In the Morning" b/w "Now We're One" as well as the B-side to his "Rave On!" single, "Take Your Time".
