The
Fédération Internationale du Sport Automobile (
FISA) was the
governing body for
motor racing events. The organisation's origins date from 1922, when the
Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) delegated the organisation of automobile racing to the
CSI (Commission Sportive Internationale de la FIA), an autonomous committee that would later become the FISA.
