Fathers

A father is the male parent of a (human) child. Besides the paternal bonds of a father to his children, the father has a parental social and legal relationship with the child that carries with it certain rights and obligations, although this varies between jurisdictions. An adoptive father is a male who has become the child's parent through the legal process of adoption. A biological father is the male genetic contributor to the creation of the baby, through sexual intercourse or sperm donation. A biological father may have legal obligations to a child not raised by him, such as an obligation of monetary support. A putative father is a man whose biological relationship to a child is alleged but has not been established. A stepfather is a male who is the husband of a child's mother and they may form a family unit, but who generally does not have the legal rights and responsibilities of a parent in relation to the child.

Daniel Luther Fathers (* 23. März 1966 in London) ist ein britischer Schauspieler, der für die Rolle des „Brown Cessario“ in dem Film Camp Rock und dessen Fortsetzung Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam bekannt ist. Des Weiteren hatte er eine Rolle in der ersten Episode bei der dritten Staffel der Serie „Heartland“.

Die Bezeichnung VACTERL-Assoziation fasst eine Kombination komplexer Fehlbildungen auf dem Boden embryonaler, möglicherweise autosomal-rezessiv vererbter Entwicklungsstörungen zusammen.

Vater bezeichnet einen männlichen Elternteil einer Person; seine Vaterschaft kann sich auf einen, zwei oder alle drei Teilbereiche der Elternschaft beziehen:

• der biologische Vater war der Erzeuger der männlichen Keimzelle (Sperma) für die Zeugung der Person, er ist mit ihr blutsverwandt
• der rechtliche Vater hat Elternrechte und -pflichten und trägt die rechtliche Verantwortung für die Person, auch im Falle ihrer Adoption durch ihn
• der soziale Vater übernimmt persönliche Verantwortung und umsorgt die Person

Vaderschap is de relatie tussen een man (ook mannelijk dier) en zijn kind. Deze relatie heeft emotionele, sociale, juridische en biologische componenten.
