from 1384 to her death. She was the youngest daughter of

, and his wife,
Elizabeth of Bosnia
. Jadwiga was a member of the
Capetian House of Anjou
, but she was even more closely related to the native
Piast dynasty

Poland
through her ancestors. She was
canonized
in 1997.
