Joshua (name)

Joshua is a Biblical given name derived from the Hebrew Yehoshua . The name was a common alternative form of the name יֵשׁוּעַ – yēšūă which corresponds to the Greek spelling Iesous, from which, through the Latin Iesus, comes the English spelling Jesus.
