Kanari

The Cañari (in Kichwa: Kañari) are an indigenous ethnic group traditionally inhabiting the territory of the modern provinces of Azuay and Cañar in Ecuador. They are descended from the independent pre-Columbian tribal confederation of the same name. The historic people are particularly noted for their resistance against the Inca Empire. Eventually conquered by the Inca in the early 16th century shortly before the arrival of the Spanish, the Cañari later allied with the Spanish against the Inca. Today, the population of the Cañari, who include many mestizos, numbers in the thousands.

Die Kañari (Kañar, Cañari, Cañar) sind ein indigenes Volk in der ecuadorianischen Provinz Cañar, die nach ihnen benannt ist, sowie in der Provinz Azuay.

Los Cañaris (en kichwa: Kañari) eran los antiguos pobladores del territorio de las provincias de Azuay y de Cañar en el territorio del Ecuador, aunque también se han encontrado pruebas de la presencia de esta etnia en otras provincias como Chimborazo, El Oro, Loja y Morona Santiago.

Kanarski otoci, takoder Kanari (špa. Canarias ili Islas Canarias) otocje su od sedam otoka vulkanskog porijekla u Atlantskom oceanu, sjeverozapadno od obale Afrike. Otoci pripadaju Španjolskoj, unutar koje cine autonomnu zajednicu. Ime je latinskog porijekla Insularia Canaria što znaci "Otok pasa", i u pocetku se primjenjivalo samo za otok Gran Canaria.
