Kashgar (known in Chinese as Kashi) is an oasis city with an approximate population of 350,000. It is the westernmost city in China, located near the border with Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan. Kashgar has a rich history of over 2,000 years and served as a trading post and strategically important city on the Silk Road between China, the Middle East, and Europe. Kashgar is part of the China–Pakistan Economic Corridor.

Benarés (en hindi y oficialmente: वाराणसी IAST: Vārāṇasī) es una ciudad situada a orillas del río Ganges en el estado de Uttar Pradesh (India). Se trata de una de las siete ciudades sagradas del hinduismo, así como para el jainismo y el budismo.

| Kashgar, Kaxgar, Kasjgar of Qashqar is een stad in de autonome regio Sinkiang. Deze oasestad ligt ten westen van de Taklamakanwoestijn, in het verre westen van China, op 1304 m hoogte aan de voet van het Pamirgebergte en aan de Qashqar darya. Ze telt ongeveer 285.000 personen. Ten oosten van de stad liggen de ruïnes van de oude handelsstad Hano-i.

Bénarès , ou Varanasi (hindi, '), est une ville de l'État indien de l'Uttar Pradesh. Située sur la rive gauche du Gange, la ville est considérée comme l'une des villes les plus anciennement habitées du monde. Kachgar (Kashgar, Kashi) (喀什 ; pinyin : Kāshí ; ouïgour : قەشقەر / Qeşqer, ou يېڭىشەھەر ) est une ville de la Région autonome ouïghoure du Xinjiang (ou Turkestan chinois). Son nom signifie « caverne (ghar en arabo-persan) de jade (qash en ouïgour) ».
