Lari, also known as
Larestani , is a
southwestern Iranian language related to
Luri and Persian. The Lari language has kept strong ties with
Old Persian. The Lari language is derived from
Middle Persian. The Lari language has lots of words from Middle Persian that distinguishes it from modern Persian. The Lari language has less
Arabic influence than
Modern Persian, which suggests that Lari descends from a purer Iranian tongue. There are
ergative structure in Lari verbal morphology, which is distinct from Persian.
