Megino-Kangalassky District (; ) is an administrative and municipal district (
raion, or
ulus), one of the
thirty-four in the
Sakha Republic,
Russia. It is located in the central part of the republic, on the
Lena River opposite
Yakutsk, the
capital of the republic. It borders with
Ust-Aldansky District in the north,
Churapchinsky District in the east,
Amginsky District in the southeast,
Khangalassky District in the southwest, and is bounded by the Lena River in the west. The area of the district is . Its
administrative center is the
rural locality (a
selo) of
Mayya. Population: 32,288 (
2002 Census); The population of Mayya accounts for 23.3% of the district's total population.
