Mineralized tissues
Mineralized tissues are biological tissues that incorporate minerals into soft matrices. Typically these tissues form a protective shield or structural support. Bone, mollusc shells, deep sea sponge Euplectella species, radiolariansdiatomsantler bone, tendoncartilagetooth enamel and dentin are some examples of mineralized tissues.
