One Nevada (ON Line) is a , 500-kilovolt,  power line that runs from Southern to Northern Nevada. 25% of the transmission line is owned by NV Energy which operates and offers the line's capacity under the terms of NV Energy's Open Access Transmission Tariff. Great Basin Transmission South owns 75% of the line. The line runs from the new Robinson Summit Substation in Ely, Nevada to Apex, Nevada connecting with the existing NV Energy Harry Allen Substation.

Online is a magazine for information systems first published in 1977. The publisher Online, Inc. was founded the year before. In May 2002, Information Today, Inc. acquired the assets of Online Inc. The magazine merged in 2013 with the magazine Searcher to form Online Searcher.

The terms "online" and "offline" have specific meanings in regard to computer technology and telecommunications in which "online" indicates a state of connectivity, while "offline" indicates a disconnected state. Common vernacular extended from their computing and telecommunication meanings and refers specifically to an Internet connection. Lastly, in the area of human interaction and conversation, discussions taking place during a business meeting are "online", while issues that do not concern all participants of the meeting should be "taken offline" — continued outside of the meeting.

Online (auch On-Line; von englisch on ‚auf‘ und line ‚Leitung‘, deutsch etwa ‚im Netz‘) bezeichnet im Allgemeinen eine aktive Verbindung mit einem Kommunikationsnetzwerk, insbesondere dem Internet. Ist eine Verbindung inaktiv, so bezeichnet man dies als offline, Geräte ganz ohne Netzanbindung auch mit stand-alone.

El término en línea (online) hace referencia a un estado de conectividad, frente al término fuera de línea (offline) que indica un estado de desconexión. Existen algunos significados más específicos:

• En un sistema para la ejecución de una tarea en particular, se dice que un elemento del sistema está en línea si está operativo.
• En telecomunicación, el término tiene otro significado muy específico. Un aparato asociado a un sistema está en línea si se encuentra bajo control directo del mismo, esto es, si se encuentra disponible para su uso inmediato por parte del sistema, sin intervención humana, pero que no puede operar de modo independiente del sistema.

Iets is online (het Engelse woord voor aan de lijn) wanneer het een actieve verbinding heeft met een netwerk, en offline wanneer dit niet zo is.

En général, un système (ordinateur, réseau), et par extension son utilisation ou ce qu'il contient, est dit en ligne s'il est connecté à un autre réseau ou système (au moyen d'une « ligne » de communication, bien que ce ne soit pas toujours le moyen ; c'est comme « être au téléphone »). Diverses significations plus spécifiques existent :

• En langage courant, le réseau est en général Internet, si bien que « en ligne » décrit un service, une information accessible par Internet ou l'état d'un ordinateur et de son utilisateur d'y être connecté, etc. ;
• L'utilisation de services Internet (telle que la lecture et rédaction de courriels) est dite 'en ligne' si elle nécessite une connexion (cas du Webmail) ou, par opposition, hors ligne si, entre d'éventuels brefs échanges de données (courriel) en ligne, un programme (client de messagerie) est capable de réaliser ce service de manière locale et autonome, sans être connecté.
