Pagasae (
Greek, Modern Παγασές) was a coastal city in ancient
Magnesia (east central
Greece), now a suburb of the modern city of
Volos. It flourished in the 5th and 4th centuries BC. The only usable harbor in
Thessaly was located on the Gulf of Pagasae, as it is still known, modern name being
Pagasitikos. Pagasae was involved in the military campaigns of
Philip II of Macedon.
