Polynôme

Dioscorea is a genus of over 600 species of flowering plants in the family Dioscoreaceae, native throughout the tropical and warm temperate regions of the world. The vast majority of the species are tropical, with only a few species extending into temperate climates. It is named after the ancient Greek physician and botanist Dioscorides.

In der Mathematik ist ein Polynom („mehrnamig“, von griech. πολύ polý „viel“ und όνομα onoma „Name“; diese Bezeichnung geht zurück bis auf Euklid ) eine (endliche) Summe von Vielfachen von Potenzen mit natürlichzahligen Exponenten einer Variablen, die meist mit bezeichnet wird. En mathématiques, un polynôme est une expression formée uniquement de produits et de sommes de constantes et d'indéterminées, habituellement notées X, Y, Z… Ces objets sont largement utilisés en pratique, ne serait-ce que parce qu'ils donnent localement une valeur approchée de toute fonction dérivable (voir développement limité) et permettent de représenter des formes lisses (voir l'article courbe de Bézier, décrivant un cas particulier de fonction polynôme).
