Der Roman ist eine literarische Gattung, und zwar die Langform der schriftlichen Erzählung. Das Wort Roman ist ein Lehnwort aus dem Französischen und bedeutet „Erzählung in Versen oder Prosa“. Es löst im 17. Jahrhundert das Wort Historie ab, das bis dahin die unter diese Gattung fallenden Werke bezeichnet hatte. Auch versteht man ab dem 17. Jahrhundert nur noch in Prosa abgefasste Schriften als „Romans“. Der Plural „Romane“ wird erst im 18. Jahrhundert gebräuchlich.

Trebbiano es una variedad italiana de vid (Vitis vinifera) blanca. Proporciona buenas cosechas, pero el vino que se elabora con ella es poco distinguido. Puede ser fresco y afrutado, pero no se conserva durante mucho tiempo. Su alta acidez hace que sea importante en la producción de coñac. También se la llama Ugni Blanc y tiene otros muchos nombres (St. Émilion, White Hermitage, White Shiraz) que refleja una familia de subtipos locales, particularmente en Italia y Francia.
