Saturday Night and Sunday Morning is a 1960 British film produced by
Tony Richardson. It is an adaptation of the
1958 novel of the same name by
Alan Sillitoe. Sillitoe wrote the screenplay adaptation and the film was directed by
Karel Reisz. The film is about a young machinist who spends his weekends drinking and partying, until his affair with a married woman leads to the young man being beaten to the point of hospitalization by her husband.
