Steve Taylor
Roland Stephen "Steve" Taylor (born December 9, 1957), is an American Christian rock singer, songwriter, record producer, and film director. A large figure in what has come to be known as Christian alternative rock, he also served in the group Chagall Guevara. In contrast to many Christian musical artists, his history of songs have often taken aim at other Christians with the use of sardonic lyrics and new wave influenced instrumentation, such as blasting hypocrite preachers that hide their personal lives in 1985's "On the Fritz" and condemning racism by Christian organizations (such as those in apartheid era South Africa) in 1984's "We Don't Need No Colour Code". After a decade and a half of hiatus, Taylor returned to recording music in 2010 as the front-man for Steve Taylor & The Perfect Foil, a supergroup he founded with Peter FurlerJimmy Abegg, and John Mark Painter.
