Tripartite System

A tripartite system in education may refer to:

• Tripartite system (politics) – division of political power into legislature, executive, and judiciary

• Education in Germany – the present secondary school organisation common in Germany
• Tripartite language, also called an ergative–accusative language, a language treats the subject of an intransitive verb, the subject of a transitive verb, and the object of a transitive verb each in different ways

The Tripartite System was the arrangement of state-funded secondary education between 1945 and the 1970s in England and Wales, and from 1947 to 2009 in Northern Ireland. It was an administrative implementation of the Education Act 1944 and the Education Act (Northern Ireland) 1947.
