Västerås

Västerås is a city in central Sweden, located on the shore of Lake Mälaren in the province Västmanland, some west of Stockholm. The city had a population of 110,877 inhabitants in 2010, out of the municipal total of 137,207 (2010) (though calculating not the whole municipality but all Västerås' suburbs, the number becomes 128,840 (2010).

Västerås Municipality (Västerås kommun) is a municipality in Västmanland County in central Sweden. Its seat is located in the city of Västerås.
