Verkhnevilyuysky District
Verkhnevilyuysky District (; ) is an administrative and municipal district (raion, or ulus), one of the thirty-four in the Sakha RepublicRussia. It is located in the western central part of the republic and borders with Vilyuysky District in the east, Gorny District in the southeast, Olyokminsky District in the south, Suntarsky and Nyurbinsky Districts in the west, and with Olenyoksky District in the northwest. The area of the district is . Its administrative center is the rural locality (a selo) of Verkhnevilyuysk. Population: 21,383 (2002 Census); The population of Verkhnevilyuysk accounts for 29.8% of the district's total population.
