Yala is the southernmost province (changwat) of Thailand. Neighboring provinces are (from northwest clockwise) Songkhla, Pattani and Narathiwat. Yala is the only landlocked province in the south of Thailand and its southern part borders Kedah and Perak of Malaysia.
