Altaic languages
Altaic is a proposed language family of central Eurasia, now widely seen as discredited. Various versions included the Turkic, Mongolic, Tungusic, Koreanic, and Japonic languages. These languages are spoken in a wide arc stretching from northeast Asia through Central Asia to Anatolia and eastern Europe. The group is named after the Altai Mountains, a mountain range in Central Asia.

Llengües altaiques
Les llengües altaiques són una macrofamília lingüística que s'estén des dels Balcans fins a la Sibèria oriental, amb 105 milions de parlants. Es consideren originàries de la serralada de l'Altai, entre Rússia i Mongòlia. L'existència d'una vertadera família altaica és discutible; mentre que la hipòtesi altaica ha tingut molts defensors, encara no és considerada satisfactòriament provada, i per això és incorrecte usar el terme "família" en referència a les llengües altaiques.
