The brain is an organ that serves as the center of the nervous system in all vertebrate and most invertebrate animals. Only a few invertebrates such as sponges, jellyfish, adult sea squirts and starfish do not have a brain; diffuse or localised nerve nets are present instead. The brain is located in the head, usually close to the primary sensory organs for such senses as vision, hearing, balance, taste, and smell. The brain is the most complex organ in a vertebrate's body. In a typical human, the cerebral cortex (the largest part) is estimated to contain 15–33 billion neurons, each connected by synapses to several thousand other neurons. These neurons communicate with one another by means of long protoplasmic fibers called axons, which carry trains of signal pulses called action potentials to distant parts of the brain or body targeting specific recipient cells.

Brainfuck ist eine esoterische Programmiersprache, die der Schweizer Urban Müller im Jahre 1993 entwarf. Die Sprache wird auch als Brainf*ck, Brainf*** oder BF bezeichnet.

Als Gehirn oder Hirn (ahd. hirni, hirne) – , – wird bei Wirbeltieren der im Kopf gelegene Teil des zentralen Nervensystems bezeichnet. Das Hirn, anatomisch Encephalon genannt (von en ‚in‘ und κεφαλή kephalē ‚Kopf‘), liegt geschützt in der Schädelhöhle, wird umhüllt von Hirnhäuten und besteht hauptsächlich aus Nervengewebe. In Höhe des Foramen magnum geht es in das Rückenmark über, beide zusammen bilden das Zentralnervensystem (ZNS).

Brainfuck is een esoterische programmeertaal die rond 1993 door Urban Müller is gemaakt. De taal wordt soms brainf*ck, brainf***, of BF genoemd als men beleefd wil zijn.

De hersenen (plurale tantum), ook wel het brein genoemd, vormen het deel van het centrale zenuwstelsel dat zich in het hoofd bevindt (Grieks: ἐγκέφαλος, enképhalos, inhoofdig). De hersenen vormen het waarnemende, aansturende, controlerende en informatieverwerkende orgaan in dieren. Er zijn drie groepen dieren met hersenen: de gewervelden, en binnen de groep van de ongewervelden de geleedpotigen (zoals insecten, spinnen, kreeften) en de inktvissen. De overige ongewervelden hebben geen hersenen maar verzamelingen van individuele ganglia. De hersenen bevinden zich over het algemeen in de kop van het dier.

Brainfuck est un langage de programmation exotique, inventé par Urban Müller en 1993. Il tire son nom de l’union de deux mots anglais, (« cerveau ») et (« baiser »), et joue sur les mots, puisque ce langage est volontairement simpliste, et parce que l'expression Brain Fuck évoque, en argot, ce qui met le cerveau dans un état de confusion par sa complexité apparente. Ce vocabulaire peu flatteur lui a d'ailleurs valu d'être écrit sous d'autres orthographes plus prudes, telles que Brainf*ck, Brainf*** ou encore BF.

Le cerveau est le principal organe du système nerveux des animaux appartenant au phylum des bilatériens. Chez les cordés, comme les humains par exemple, il est dénommé encéphale ; le terme cerveau peut alors désigner uniquement une partie de l'encéphale, le prosencéphale (voire seulement le télencéphale). Néanmoins, dans cet article, le terme cerveau prend son sens le plus large.
