chemical analysis

Analytical chemistry is the study of the separation, identification, and quantification of the chemical components of natural and artificial materials. Qualitative analysis gives an indication of the identity of the chemical species in the sample, and quantitative analysis determines the amount of certain components in the substance. The separation of components is often performed prior to analysis.

Die Analytische Chemie beschäftigt sich als Teilgebiet der Chemie mit der Identifizierung und der Mengenbestimmung von chemischen Substanzen (in diesem Zusammenhang als Analyten bezeichnet). Sie spielt in fast allen chemischen Teildisziplinen eine bedeutende Rolle und ist häufig Gegenstand aktueller öffentlicher Diskussionen wie zum Beispiel in der Umweltanalytik.

De analytische scheikunde of analytische chemie is het onderdeel van de scheikunde dat zich bezighoudt met de analyse van chemische verbindingen en mengsels. Daarbij wordt zowel ingegaan op de bepaling van de aanwezige stoffen, als de concentratie ervan. Dit wordt respectievelijk kwalitatieve analyse en kwantitatieve analyse genoemd.

La chimie analytique est la partie de la chimie qui concerne l'analyse des produits, c'est-à-dire l'identification et la caractérisation de substances chimiques connues ou non. La substance chimique dont on cherche à déterminer les propriétés est appelée analyte.
