evaluation

Evaluation is a systematic determination of a subject's merit, worth and significance, using criteria governed by a set of standards. It can assist an organization, program, project or any other intervention or initiative to assess any aim, realisable concept/proposal, or any alternative, to help in decision-making; or to ascertain the degree of achievement or value in regard to the aim and objectives and results of any such action that has been completed. The primary purpose of evaluation, in addition to gaining insight into prior or existing initiatives, is to enable reflection and assist in the identification of future change.

Evaluation oder Evaluierung (aus „stark, wert sein“) bedeutet sach- und fachgerechte (Untersuchung und) Bewertung.

Evaluatie is het verzamelen, interpreteren en presenteren van informatie teneinde de waarde van een resultaat of proces te bepalen. Hierbij kan het gaan om het waarderen van de resultaten van personen of bedrijven, maar ook om het waarderen van alternatieve oplossingen. Het begrip evalueren heeft ook als betekenis het schatten van het belang en de betekenis van een zaak.

Selon Michel Vial, l'évaluation est le rapport que l'on entretient avec la valeur. L'homme est porteur de valeurs qu'il a reçu plus ou moins consciemment, qu'il convoque pour mesurer la valeur d'objets ou de produits, pour contrôler les procédures ( vérifier leur conformité) ou encore interroger (rendre intelligible) le sens de ses pratiques : s'interroger sur la valeur, rendre intelligible les pratiques au moyen de l'évaluation située.

Ewaluacja to systematyczne badanie wartości albo cech konkretnego programu, planu, działania (eksperymentu) bądź obiektu (programu komputerowego, programu nauczania, lekarstwa, rozwiązania technicznego) z punktu widzenia przyjętych kryteriów, w celu jego usprawnienia, rozwoju lub lepszego zrozumienia.
