Fifth is the ordinal form of the number five.

The M5 is a local public transit bus route in Manhattan, New York City, United States, running along the Fifth / Sixth Avenues / Riverside Drive Line as well as a portion of the Broadway Line after the discontinuation of the M6. It primarily runs along Broadway, Fifth and Sixth Avenues, and Riverside Drive from Lower Manhattan to Washington Heights. The portion along Broadway south of East 8th Street was originally a streetcar line.

Fifth is een album uit 1972 van de Britse band Soft Machine. Deze elpee was het vijfde album van de groep. De ingeslagen weg richting instrumentale jazz wordt vootgezet, maar ook met experimentele minimalistische composities. Drummer van het eerste uur Robert Wyatt had de band na voltooiing van Fourth verlaten en werd op voorspraak van Elton Dean vervangen door Phil Howard. Niet helemaal tot tevredenheid van Hugh Hopper en Mike Ratledge en Howard verliet de band, na nog wel aan de opnames te hebben meegewerkt. John Marshall nam zijn plaats in.

Fifth je páté studiové album britské skupiny Soft Machine, vydané v cervenci 1972 u vydavatelství CBS Records. Nahráno bylo od listopadu 1971 do února 1972 ve studiu Advision Studios v Londýne a o produkci se starala skupina sama. Jde o první album po odchodu puvodního bubeníka Roberta Wyatta, kterého nejprve nahradil Phil Howard (skladby nahrané od listopadu do prosince 1971) a pozdeji John Stanley Marshall. V jedné skladbe hraje Roy Babbington, který se pozdeji stal clenem skupiny.
