Firewood
Firewood is any wooden material that is gathered and used for fuel. Generally, firewood is not highly processed and is in some sort of recognizable log or branch form, compared to other forms of wood fuel like pellets or chips. Firewood can either be seasoned (dry) or unseasoned (fresh/wet). It can be classed as hardwood or softwood.

Bois énergie
Le bois énergie est un type de bioénergie utilisant la biomasse constituée par le bois. Il s'agit essentiellement de l'utilisation du bois en tant que combustible, et dans une moindre mesure en tant que source de combustible. La contribution de cette énergie à la pollution , comparée aux autres combustibles si les rejets ne sont pas soigneusement contrôlés. Il peut s'agir d'une énergie renouvelable si le bois est produit par une gestion durable des forêts.

هيزم
هيزُم (هيمه يا چوب خشک) به چوب‌ها و الوارهايي گفته مي‌شود که به منظور سوزاندن براي توليد گرما يا آشپزي بکار مي‌رود. از هيزم گاه براي گرداندن موتور بخار (براي نمونه در لوکوموتيوها) نيز بهره مي‌گيرند. استفاده از هيزم به عنوان سوخت براي گرماي خانه‌ها به قدمت خود تمدن است. با اينکه امروزه در بسياري نقاط، ذغالسنگ، نفت و گاز جاي هيزم را گرفته‌اند ولي هنوز در بسياري خانه‌ها در سراسر جهان کاربرد دارد.
