gTLD

Generic top-level domains (gTLDs) are one of the categories of top-level domains (TLDs) maintained by the Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA) for use in the Domain Name System of the Internet. A top-level domain is the last label of every fully qualified domain name. They are called generic for historic reasons; initially, they were contrasted with country-specific TLDs in RFC 920.

Un domaine de premier niveau générique (en anglais generic top-level domain ou gTLD) est un type de domaines de premier niveau (TLD) maintenus par l'Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA) pour une utilisation dans le système de nom de domaine d'Internet. Un domaine de premier niveau est le suffixe à la fin de l'adresse d'un site web, par exemple, dans fr.wikipedia.org, le domaine de premier niveau est .org.

• .info (od ang. information - informacja) - domena dla stron informacyjnych
• .mobi (ang. mobile - sieć komórkowa) - domena stron zaprojektowanych dla telefonów komórkowych
