DotGNU is a decommissioned part of the GNU Project that aims to provide a free software replacement for Microsoft's .NET Framework by Free Software Foundation. Other goals of the project are better support for non-Windows platforms and support for more processors.

The wildebeests, also called gnus or wildebai, are a genus of antelopes, Connochaetes. They belong to the family Bovidae, which includes antelopes, cattle, goats, sheep and other even-toed horned ungulates. Connochaetes includes two species, both native to Africa: the black wildebeest, or white-tailed gnu (C. gnou); and the blue wildebeest, or brindled gnu (C. taurinus). Fossil records suggest these two species diverged about one million years ago, resulting in a northern and a southern species. The blue wildebeest remained in its original range and changed very little from the ancestral species, while the black wildebeest changed more in order to adapt to its open grassland habitat in the south. The most obvious way of telling the two species apart are the differences in their colouring and in the way their horns are oriented.

DotGNU ist der Name eines 2001 offiziell vorgestellten GNU-Projekts, dessen Ziel es war, eine Alternative für die Erstellung von Webservices und von C#-Applikationen zu bieten und damit der Konkurrenz von Microsoft zu begegnen. Vorbild war der Erfolg des GNU-Projekts als Lizenzmodell für herstellerunabhängige Software. Wichtigster Bestandteil von DotGNU ist Portable.NET.

Die Gnus (Connochaetes) sind eine Gattung afrikanischer Antilopen, die in großen Herden leben und zur Gruppe der Kuhantilopen gehören.

Gnus ist ein E-Mail- und Newsreader, der unter Gnu Emacs und XEmacs läuft.

Está formado en su totalidad por software libre, mayoritariamente bajo términos de copyleft. GNU es un acrónimo recursivo de "GNU's Not Unix" (en español: GNU no es Unix), elegido porque GNU sigue un diseño tipo Unix y se mantiene compatible con éste, pero se diferencia de Unix en que es software libre y que no contiene código de Unix.

Gnoes of wildebeesten (Connochaetes) zijn een geslacht van de evenhoevigen behorende tot de familie holhoornigen (Bovidae).

GNU est un projet de système d’exploitation libre lancé en 1983 par Richard Stallman, puis maintenu par le projet GNU. Son nom est un acronyme récursif qui signifie en anglais « » (littéralement, « GNU n’est pas UNIX »). Il reprend les concepts et le fonctionnement d’UNIX.

DotGNU est une alternative libre à la plateforme Microsoft .NET qui vise à créer une bibliothèque conforme aux spécifications Common Language Infrastructure de Microsoft. DotGNU est maintenu par le projet GNU dans le but de supporter des systèmes d'exploitation autres que Windows et de nombreuses architectures de micro-processeurs.

Les gnous sont les deux espèces de bovidés du genre Connochaetes. Ils sont herbivores et vivent en troupeau en Afrique. Ce sont des mammifères ongulés. On rencontre des gnous en Afrique du Sud, au Kenya et en Tanzanie. Contrairement aux apparences il s'agit bien d'une antilope.
