Law of nature or Laws of nature may refer to:

• Physical law, a scientific generalization based upon empirical observation

Natural law is a philosophy that certain rights or values are inherent by virtue of human nature and universally cognizable through human reason. Historically, natural law refers to the use of reason to analyze both social and personal human nature to deduce binding rules of moral behavior. The law of nature, being determined by nature, is universal.

Der Begriff Naturrecht ( oder , aus ‚Recht‘ und ‚Natur‘; bzw. natürliches Recht, lat. oder , aus ‚natürlich‘, „von Natur entstanden“) oder überpositives Recht ist eine Bezeichnung für universell gültiges Recht, das rechtsphilosophisch, moralphilosophisch oder theologisch begründet wird. Von diesen Vorstellungen abgeleitet dient es dem gesetzten (manchmal auch gesatzten) oder positiven Recht als höchstrangige Rechtsquelle zur Legitimierung. Die historische Schule des Rechtspositivismus hat das Naturrecht weitgehend abgelöst. Der Rechtspositivismus vertritt die Auffassung, dass verfassungsmäßig zustande gekommenes Recht keine höhere Begründung braucht.

Natuurwet (van het Latijnse lex naturae) of natuurrecht (ius naturale) heeft een aantal uiteenlopende invullingen. In de theologie, de rechtsfilosofie en de ethiek staat dit begrip voor de regels en beginselen die voor alle mensen gelden, omdat ze voortvloeien uit het verstand, zoals dat bepalend is voor de menselijke natuur.

Le droit naturel (en latin jus naturale) est l'ensemble des normes prenant en considération la nature de l'homme et sa finalité dans le monde. Le droit naturel s'oppose au droit positif, et diffère du concept de loi naturelle. En outre, le droit naturel se distingue des droits naturels : ces derniers se réfèrent à des droits subjectifs, tels que, par exemple, les droits de l'homme. On parle de droits naturels pour ceux-ci parce qu'on présume que ces droits seraient issus de la nature humaine, et qu'ils seraient donc inhérents à chacun, indépendamment de sa position sociale, de son ethnie, de sa nationalité, ou de toute autre considération.

Prawo natury (prawo naturalne; łac. ius naturale) – postulowany, odmienny od prawa pozytywnego porządek prawny. Różne doktryny prawnonaturalne (rzadziej jusnaturalne) prowadziły spory co do źródeł prawa natury, jego istoty, treści i stosunku do prawa stanowionego. Spór prawnonaturalizmu z pozytywizmem prawniczym (nieuznającym istnienia prawa naturalnego) był jednym z ważniejszych tematów filozofii prawa.
