Plateau
In geology and earth science, a plateau ( or ; plural plateaus or plateaux), also called a high plain or tableland, is an area of highland, usually consisting of relatively flat terrain that is raised significantly above the surrounding area, often with one or more sides with steep slopes.

Hochebene (auch Hochfläche, Hochplateau oder Plateau, im spanischsprachigen Raum Meseta) bezeichnet eine flache oder leicht hügelige Landschaft oder Region, die deutlich höher liegt als die Umgebung oder Teile davon.

Plateau (geografie)
Een plateau is een soort van hoogvlakte. Het oorspronkelijke vlakke gebied is door middel van geologische factoren in zijn geheel meestal verticaal omhoog gekomen, soms aan de ene kant lager en aan de andere kant van het plateau hoger.

Plateau (géographie)
Le plateau est une des trois formes principales de relief topographique. C'est une aire géographique d’altitude plus ou moins élevée, où les cours d'eau sont encaissés (contrairement aux plaines). Les interfluves sont peu marqués (à la différence des montagnes).
