Prohibition
Prohibition ( ‚verhindern‘) bezeichnet das Verbot bestimmter Drogen. Ziel einer Prohibition ist es – in der Regel –, die Bevölkerung vor negativen Wirkungen der verbotenen Substanzen zu schützen; diese Ziele können religiös, politisch, wirtschaftlich oder aus gesundheitlicher Fürsorge (z. B. Suchtprävention) definiert und motiviert sein. Damit steht eine Prohibition in Konflikt mit Freiheits- und Persönlichkeitsrechten, wie beispielsweise persönlicher Selbstbestimmung, freiem Zugang zu Märkten etc.

Prohibition
La Prohibition fait référence à plusieurs périodes de la première moitié du où la fabrication, le transport, l'importation, l'exportation et la vente de boissons alcoolisées étaient prohibés dans certains pays, comme :
- la Finlande (1919 à 1932), appelé kieltolaki ;
- le Canada (de 1900 à 1948) dans la province de l'île-du-Prince-Édouard (moins de à l'époque) et pendant de plus courtes périodes dans plusieurs autres provinces ;
- la Russie (1914 à 1925) ;
- les États-Unis (1919 à 1933).
