Radiata is a taxonomic rank that has been used to classify radially symmetric animals. The term Radiata has united several different groupings of animals, some of which do not form a monophyletic group under current views of animal phylogeny. Because of this and problems of homoplasy associated with using body symmetry as a phylogenetic character, the term is used mostly in a historical context.

Radiata zijn alzijdig symmetrisch gebouwde dieren. Ze hebben een mond met daaromheen een krans van tentakels, en bezitten twee cellagen (kiembladen). Een buitenste (ectoderm = buitenhuid) en een binnenste (endoderm = binnenhuid), die de darmholte bekleedt.

Elektromagnetische straling is de voortplanting door de ruimte van elektrische en magnetische oscillaties (trillingen). Licht is een vorm van elektromagnetische straling. Alle soorten elektromagnetische straling hebben in het vacuüm een snelheid gelijk aan de lichtsnelheid.

Le groupe des radiaires (Radiata, parfois appelés radiés) est l'une des deux grandes subdivisions morphologiques et phylogénétiques des métazoaires. Ce groupe paraphylétique représente les eumétazoaires non bilatériens.

Láckovci (Radiata, Coelenterata, Diblastica) ci dvojlistí je seskupení jednoduchých živocichu, do nehož se radí zejména žahavci, žebernatky, salinely, rybomorky a kaviárovci. Název byl odvozen od trávicí dutiny – lácky.
