sanctifies

Sanctification is the act or process of acquiring sanctity, of being made or becoming holy. "Sanctity" is an ancient concept widespread among religions. It is a gift given through the power of God to a person or thing which is then considered sacred or set apart in an official capacity within the religion, in general anything from a temple, to vessels, to days of the week, to a human believer who willingly accepts this gift can be sanctified. To sanctify is to literally "set apart for particular use in a special purpose or work and to make holy or sacred."  Etymologically, "sanctify" derives from the Latin verb  which in turn derives from sanctus "holy" and "to make".

Selon les saintes Écritures, la sanctification est le processus par lequel une personne se libère du péché et devient pure et sainte par l'expiation de Jésus-Christ (voir Hébreux 10:10 ; 13:12). Être sanctifié signifie être mis à part pour Dieu. La sanctification est le fruit de la libération de la vieille nature et de l'abandon du vieil homme, ce qui n'est possible que par le sacrifice expiatoire de Jésus-Christ.

Thánh hóa theo nguyên nghĩa là biệt riêng ra cho một mục đích đặc biệt, đó là làm nên Thánh hoặc trở nên thiêng liêng. Vì vậy Thánh hóa ngụ ý một tình trạng hoặc một tiến trình được biệt riêng ra để được nên Thánh.
