A saw is a tool consisting of a tough blade, wire, or chain with a hard toothed edge. It is used to cut through material, most often wood. The cut is made by placing the toothed edge against the material and moving it forcefully forth and less forcefully back or continuously forward. This force may be applied by hand, or powered by steam, water, electricity or other power source. An abrasive saw has a powered circular blade designed to cut through metal.

The Arabic phrase ʿalayhi as-salām , which translates as "peace be upon him" is a conventionally complimentary phrase or durood attached to the names of the prophets in Islam. The English phrase is also given the abbreviation pbuh in writing. An extended variant of the phrase reads [lit.] "prayer of God be upon him and his family and peace", and it is often abbreviated SAWS in writing in an English-language context. Saw (engl. für Säge) ist ein Horror-Thriller mit deutlichen Splatter-Elementen aus dem Jahr 2004 von Regisseur James Wan, der gemeinsam mit Leigh Whannell auch das Drehbuch schrieb. Der Film basiert auf einem gleichnamigen, zehnminütigen Kurzfilm aus dem Jahr 2003, an dem Whannel und Wan ebenfalls hauptsächlich beteiligt waren.
