Sentiment can refer to activity of five material senses (hearing, sight, touch, smell, and taste) associating them with or as something considered transcendental:

• Feelings and emotions
• Sentimentality, the literary device which is used to induce an emotional response disproportionate to the situation, and thus to substitute heightened and generally unthinking feeling for normal ethical and intellectual judgment
• Sentimental novel, an eighteenth-century literary genre
• Market sentiment, optimism or pessimism in financial and commodity markets
• Sentiment analysis, automatic detection of opinions embodied in text
• News sentiment, automatic detection of opinions embodied in news

Le sentiment est la composante de l'émotion qui implique les fonctions cognitives de l'organisme, la manière d'apprécier. Le sentiment est à l'origine d'une connaissance immédiate ou d'une simple impression. Il renvoie à la perception de l'état physiologique du moment. Le sens psychologique de sentiment qui comprend un état affectif est à distinguer du sens propre de la sensibilité.

Un sentiment és una emoció sotmesa a un pensament. Per exemple el patiment és un sentiment creat pel pensament inspirat en l'emoció del dolor. La psicologia busca analitzar els components fisiològics dels sentiments al cervell, a banda de la seva importància com a condicionants de la ment. El sentiment vincula el subjecte amb un objecte, l'ordena i el configura, ja que la persona no pot ser mai neutra davant el món.

Sentiment (franc. z lat. sentimentum, cítení, cit) znamená cit, silné a bezprostrední hnutí mysli, náklonnost nebo odpor, který není závislý na rozumové úvaze. Vyvolává kladné nebo záporné osobní zaujetí, které muže být prechodné nebo trvalé a nepodléhá zcela vedomé kontrole.
