social control

Social control is a concept within the disciplines of the social sciences and within political science.

Soziale Sanktionen beschreiben soziales Handeln, mit dem das Handeln anderer bewertend beantwortet wird. Sie können verbal (in Worten) dargestellt oder in entsprechenden Gesten (bewertend) geäußert werden. Während „Sanktionen“ im alltäglichen Sprachgebrauch hauptsächlich als Versuche verstanden werden, das Handeln anderer zu beeinflussen (etwa in der Erziehung), wurden in der Soziologie zusätzlich noch die Stärkung der Normgeltung und die Grenzerhaltung in sozialen Gruppen als Leistungen der Sanktion thematisiert.

Le contrôle social désigne l'ensemble des pratiques sociales, formelles ou informelles, qui tendent à produire et à maintenir la conformité des individus aux normes de leur groupe social. Ses modalités varient d'un type de société à l'autre. Ses effets sont discutés : ciment de la cohésion sociale pour les uns, il résulte pour les autres de toutes sortes de techniques de propagande conduisant à la domination et l'aliénation.
