studio

A studio is an artist's or worker's workroom, or the catchall term for an artist and their employees who work within that studio. This can be for the purpose of acting, architecture, painting, pottery (ceramics), sculpture, woodworking, scrapbooking, photography, graphic design, filmmaking, animation, industrial design, radio or television production broadcasting or the making of music. The term is also used for the workroom of dancers, often specified to dance studio.

ERT Digital was a pilot project by ERT, the  public broadcaster of Greece. It was the first legal attempt at digital television broadcasting in Greece, featuring four new channels: Cine+, Prisma+ Sport+ and Info+. It was officially launched in early 2006 as part of the digital television transition mandated by the European Union. The project was funded through ERT's budget and had no advertising.

• filmstudio, voor het maken van speelfilms.
• geluidsstudio, voor de registratie van spraak, muziek en andere geluiden.
• studio (fotografie), voor portretten en andere opnames door fotografen.
• coachingstudio, een ruimte waar een psycholoog of coach de inrichting steeds kan aanpassen.
• studio (appartement), een eenkamerappartement.
• KRO Magazine, voorheen KRO Studio, een programmablad van de omroepvereniging KRO.
• Pinnacle Studio, een computerprogramma voor het bewerken van films.
• Studio (lettertype), een lettertype ontworpen door A. Overbeek, in 1946 uitgebracht voor Lettergieterij Amsterdam voorheen N. Tetterode.

Een atelier is een werkplaats, in het bijzonder die van een beeldend kunstenaar.

Un atelier est un local ou un espace consacré à la fabrication, dans une usine, chez un artisan ou un artiste.

Il termine Studio, dal latino Studium (zelo, applicarsi con impegno), ha numerosi significati:

• Studio - composizione musicale a carattere didattico.
• Studio - composizione di uno studio di scacchi.
• Studio - locali in cui si registrano trasmissioni televisive.
• Studio - locali in cui si registrano dischi ed altri materiali fonografici.
• Studio - Insieme delle tecniche e delle strategie messe in atto da un soggetto per appropriarsi della conoscenza di una data disciplina e/o delle relazioni intercorrenti fra di essa e le altre conoscenze.
• Studio - ricerca o lavoro progettuale su un argomento specifico.
  • In medicina può essere denominato studio clinico quando riguarda una ricerca su uno stato morboso (propriamente studio epidemiologico) o su un farmaco.
• Studio - locale o stanza destinata ad attività di lettura o lavoro o attività artistica come la fotografia, la pittura, la musica.
• Studium ovvero Studio - nel medioevo indicava l'Università.
