V (named vee ,) is the 22nd letter in the modern English alphabet and the ISO basic Latin alphabet.

In computing, Control-V is a control character in ASCII code, also known as the synchronous idle (SYN) character. It is generated by pressing the key while holding down the key on a computer keyboard.

V. is the debut novel of Thomas Pynchon, published in 1963. It describes the exploits of a discharged U.S. Navy sailor named Benny Profane, his reconnection in New York with a group of pseudo-bohemian artists and hangers-on known as the Whole Sick Crew, and the quest of an aging traveller named Herbert Stencil to identify and locate the mysterious entity he knows only as "V." It was nominated for a National Book Award.

Verilog, standardized as IEEE 1364, is a hardware description language (HDL) used to model electronic systems. V. ist der 1963 erschienene Debütroman des amerikanischen Schriftstellers Thomas Pynchon (* 1937). Die deutsche Erstausgabe wurde 1968 unten gleichnamigem Titel in der Übersetzung von Dietrich Stössel veröffentlicht.

In de wiskunde en informatica is de Kleene-ster is een unaire operator op een verzameling strings of verzamelingen met symbolen. Het toepassen van de Kleene-ster op de verzameling V wordt genoteerd als V*. De operator wordt veel gebruikt in reguliere expressies waarin hij geïntroduceerd werd door Stephen Kleene om bepaalde automaten te karakteriseren.
